Terms of Service
Last updated: July 8, 2026
These terms govern the use of the KerjaOn platform by workers and merchants. By registering for or using the platform, you agree to be bound by them.
1. The platform and roles
KerjaOn is an intermediary platform matching merchants who post short shifts with workers who grab them. KerjaOn is not the workers' employer; workers are self-employed gig workers who contract directly with merchants for each shift, with agreement and payment support from the platform.
2. Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid right to work in Malaysia and complete identity verification (MyKad eKYC) before taking shifts. Account information must be accurate and kept current; one account per person. Students are subject to the weekly work-hour cap enforced by the platform.
3. Service agreements (Act 872)
Every confirmed shift generates a written service agreement in line with the Gig Workers Act 2025 (Act 872), recording the rate agreed at confirmation time. Agreements are stored, versioned and cannot be changed unilaterally. Self-employment PERKESO contributions are handled per applicable law.
4. Escrow and payments
All shift pay flows through the platform escrow:
- The merchant funds the full shift pay into escrow when the shift is confirmed.
- Pay is released to the worker once attendance is confirmed — our target is same-day payout.
- Platform commission and SST (where applicable) are deducted transparently at the published rates.
- Posted rates must meet the statutory minimum hourly wage.
5. Acceptable use
When using the platform, you agree to:
- Provide truthful, accurate shift postings and profile information.
- Not arrange off-platform payment to bypass escrow or commission.
- Follow reasonable safety instructions and workplace rules.
- Not engage in unlawful, discriminatory or harassing behaviour.
- Not abuse the platform through automation, scraping or service interference.
6. Cancellations and no-shows
Cancellations and no-shows are handled under the policies published on the platform. Repeated no-shows or late cancellations affect reputation and can lead to suspension; standby workers may be promoted to fill the shift.
7. Limitation of liability
The platform is provided as is. As an intermediary, KerjaOn is not responsible for the conduct of merchants or workers at the workplace except where the law requires. To the extent permitted by law, KerjaOn's aggregate liability is limited to the platform fees paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Malaysian law.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these terms, fraud or safety risk, with notice as required by law. You may close your account at any time; escrow balances and existing payment obligations are settled per the payment terms and the law.
9. Grievances and governing law
Disputes should first be filed through the in-platform grievance flow (internal review within 30 days, then conciliation and tribunal per Act 872). These terms are governed by Malaysian law and subject to the jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts and tribunals.
